​Important topics, fun, live on location, age appropriate, video shorts on safety topics to help start your safety conversations.

It's Never too Early to Talk Safety!


​The best way to help protect children and end child abuse and exploitation is to educate and empower kids in prevention. As trusted adults we need to stay aware of ways predators target children in person and online and be encouraged to translate this information into age appropriate conversations with our students and children. 
93% of child sexual abuse is perpetrated by someone the child knows
77% of children have been targeted by predators online
only 25% of children approached online for sexual favors report it to their parents

The #1 pathway into both online and in person sexual abuse and exploitation is by building relationships. ​Predators build relationships through a process called GROOMING where calculated words and behaviors are used to meet the child's needs, ​build trust, and create an emotional bond preparing the child for control, secrecy, and exploitation.  ​Predators wittingly create the kind of relationships children and teens run to, not from. ​ For this reason our safety talks need to include discussion on appropriate vs. inappropriate relationship behaviors, personal boundaries, secrets, and encouragement to tell. ​​

  1. Select and watch a video by yourself to know the content and find the safety tips you would like to highlight in your talk time
  2. Have a follow up plan and be personally prepared for any questions or disclosures a child may share with you
  3. Choose a comfortable environment for learning
  4. ​Watch together
  5. ​Talk together!
